FENG SHUI AND THE FIVE ELEMENTS

The concept of elements exists everywhere in the universe. The Chinese recognize five: FIRE, EARTH, METAL, WATER, and WOOD. In classical Feng Shui, the five Chinese elements express themselves eight different ways as...FIRE, MOTHER EARTH, SOFT METAL, HARD METAL, WATER, MOUNTAIN EARTH, HARD WOOD and SOFT WOOD. The elements manifest themselves in nature by the interplay of Yin/Yang and represent the different manifestations of Ch'i..ENERGY.

We live in a Universe that is filled with different energies. While our planet rotates on its axis creating day and night, the Earth also revolves around the sun in yearly cycles that is influenced by gravitational and magnetic fields of energy. As our solar system moves through space, we are affected by these powerful forces and cycles in nature.

In essence, Feng Shui is the study of the inter-connectedness of everything in the Universe, from the tangible to the intangible and from the organic to the inorganic. This, along with every thought and feeling we have is connected, dynamically, to nature and profoundly impacts each and every one of our lives.

Feng Shui uses observation, complex calculations and methodologies to create harmonic exterior and interior work and living environments that support and enhance the quality of life. This ranges from health, bed, sleep, door and negotiating positions, building orientation, site location, floor plans, desk, office, and furniture placement, color, compatibility in marriage and partnerships etc., along with varied remedies and enhancements, annually, to increase the prospects for peace, prosperity and good fortune.

This is a photo of me wearing a gas mask during a consultation.

One third of this house burned down a month ago due to an electrical problem in the attic, so the owners called me in to help them make sense of it. The compass reading...Lo Shui Flying Stars... indicated that the "potential for fire" was located in the heart of the house! The owners will be rebuilding their home based on Feng Shui principles.

The compass reading also indicated that the potential for "addictions and/or emotional problems" existed in the house too. The owners confirmed that one of their sons has been in trouble with the law and is in rehab for drugs. In addition, the husband used to be a workaholic before embracing Feng Shui. You may be surprised to know that the owners are Caucasian, not Chinese.
